KickOff for Growth Core: Freeform project enters second round

Growth Core pro­ject recei­ves grant noti­fi­ca­tion by the Ger­man Fede­ral Minis­try of Edu­ca­tion and Rese­arch and stri­ves for tech­no­logy lea­der­ship in Free­form Optics

Since 1 August 2018, nine com­pa­nies and two sci­ence insti­tu­tes have been working on the deve­lo­p­ment of free­form opti­cal sys­tems focu­sing on the spec­tral broad­band UV-VIS-IR range. The aim is to deve­lop free­form optics for wider appli­ca­ti­ons and hig­her-volume pro­duc­tion, enab­ling the deve­lo­p­ment of new markets.

The three year pro­ject con­ti­nues the suc­cessful coope­ra­tion of the part­ners of the Growth Core fo+, which was hono­red with the Sci­ence Award of the Ger­man Stif­ter­ver­band for col­la­bo­ra­tive rese­arch. The total pro­ject volume is 27 Mio EUR.

The pro­ject is fun­ded by the Fede­ral Minis­try of Edu­ca­tion and Rese­arch within the frame­work of »Inno­va­tive Regio­nal Growth Cores«.
