aspher­icon takes fur­ther step towards inter­na­tio­na­liza­tion with sub­si­diary in Libe­rec (CZ)

Liberec/​Jena Novem­ber 2019: After a con­s­truc­tion period of one and a half years, the pho­to­nics com­pany from Jena cele­bra­ted the offi­cial ope­ning of a new pro­duc­tion site in the Czech Repu­blic. With num­e­rous repre­sen­ta­ti­ves from sci­ence and poli­tics, aspher­icon s.r.o. was offi­ci­ally inau­gu­ra­ted on Novem­ber 22nd, 2019. From now on, pre­cis­ion optics of hig­hest qua­lity are manu­fac­tu­red on four pro­duc­tion lines in Jermanice/​Liberec.

Cerem­ony with guests from poli­tics and research

In addi­tion to spee­ches by the two CEOs Sven R. Kiontke and Tomáš Vít, the mayor of Jeř­ma­nice (CZ), Helena Fie­bi­ger­ová, as well as Radka Louč­ková Kota­sová, mem­ber of the Regio­nal Coun­cil for Eco­no­mic Deve­lo­p­ment, and Lukáš Vymě­tal, mana­ging direc­tor of Busi­ness and Inno­va­tion Agency, joi­ned the spea­k­ers last Fri­day. At the cerem­ony, the importance of the loca­tion for regio­nal pho­to­nics indus­try as well as for fur­ther deve­lo­p­ment of aspher­icon was empha­si­zed. »In view of the results achie­ved in a short period of time, both in terms of con­s­truc­tion and equip­ment, we are loo­king for­ward to the coope­ra­tion with all part­ners in the region,« empha­si­zes Tomáš Vít. »With our well-rehe­ar­sed and expe­ri­en­ced team of engi­neers, pro­cess tech­ni­ci­ans, qua­lity mana­gers and pro­duc­tion staff, we are happy to be part of the aspher­icon family and to be able to gua­ran­tee qua­lity at the hig­hest level,« con­ti­nues Vít. The Czech aspher­icon sub­si­diary can alre­ady draw on exten­sive expe­ri­ence in the pho­to­nics indus­try and has set its­elf the goal of inten­si­fy­ing coope­ra­tion with the sci­en­ti­fic and eco­no­mic environment.

Inter­na­tio­na­liza­tion and pro­xi­mity to customers

The new site will pro­duce sphe­ri­cal optics in aspher­icon qua­lity with short deli­very times and attrac­tive con­di­ti­ons. Regar­ding the company’s cus­to­mers, CEO Sven R. Kiontke empha­si­zes: »With the new site in the Czech Repu­blic, we are taking ano­ther step towards inter­na­tio­na­liza­tion and shor­tening the distance to our cus­to­mers. The exis­ting equip­ment enables us to fle­xi­bly manage new pro­jects. True to our »ever­y­thing from a sin­gle source« approach, our cus­to­mers bene­fit from extre­mely short pro­cess chains and the fami­liar aspher­icon know-how.“

Pro­duc­tion area with latest equipment

aspher­icon s.r.o. is equip­ped with the latest pro­ces­sing and mea­su­ring instru­ments and, thanks to its uni­que inter­nal data­base sys­tem, is directly con­nec­ted with the head­quar­ter in Jena. This enables fast pro­cess steps and smooth data trans­mis­sion. Twenty employees are now working on the 1600 m² pro­duc­tion area. Equip­ped in a modern envi­ron­ment with labo­ra­tory and clean room, the fac­tory offers enough space for future growth.
