Liberec\/Jena November 2019: After a construction period of one and a half years, the photonics company from Jena celebrated the official opening of a new production site in the Czech Republic. With numerous representatives from science and politics, asphericon s.r.o. was officially inaugurated on November 22nd, 2019. From now on, precision optics of highest quality are manufactured on four production lines in Jermanice\/Liberec.<\/p>\n

Ceremony with guests from politics and research<\/strong><\/p>\n

In addition to speeches by the two CEOs Sven R. Kiontke and Tom\u00e1\u0161 V\u00edt, the mayor of Je\u0159manice (CZ), Helena Fiebigerov\u00e1, as well as Radka Lou\u010dkov\u00e1 Kotasov\u00e1, member of the Regional Council for Economic Development, and Luk\u00e1\u0161 Vym\u011btal, managing director of Business and Innovation Agency, joined the speakers last Friday. At the ceremony, the importance of the location for regional photonics industry as well as for further development of asphericon was emphasized. \"In view of the results achieved in a short period of time, both in terms of construction and equipment, we are looking forward to the cooperation with all partners in the region,\" emphasizes Tom\u00e1\u0161 V\u00edt. \"With our well-rehearsed and experienced team of engineers, process technicians, quality managers and production staff, we are happy to be part of the asphericon family and to be able to guarantee quality at the highest level,\" continues V\u00edt. The Czech asphericon subsidiary can already draw on extensive experience in the photonics industry and has set itself the goal of intensifying cooperation with the scientific and economic environment.<\/p>\n

Internationalization and proximity to customers<\/strong><\/p>\n

The new site will produce spherical optics in asphericon quality with short delivery times and attractive conditions. Regarding the company's customers, CEO Sven R. Kiontke emphasizes: \"With the new site in the Czech Republic, we are taking another step towards internationalization and shortening the distance to our customers. The existing equipment enables us to flexibly manage new projects. True to our \"everything from a single source\" approach, our customers benefit from extremely short process chains and the familiar asphericon know-how.\u201c<\/p>\n

Production area with latest equipment<\/strong><\/p>\n

asphericon s.r.o. is equipped with the latest processing and measuring instruments and, thanks to its unique internal database system, is directly connected with the headquarter in Jena. This enables fast process steps and smooth data transmission. Twenty employees are now working on the 1600 m\u00b2 production area. Equipped in a modern environment with laboratory and clean room, the factory offers enough space for future growth.<\/p>\n
